ISO 9000 is a family of standards for quality management systems, and is maintained by ISO, the International Organization for Standardization. Jamestown was one of the first companies in the world to receive ISO 9001:1994 Certification. This was the most comprehensive ISO 9000 component at the time.
In 1997, QS 9000 Certification was also obtained. QS 9000 standards are developed and maintained by the Chrysler/Ford/General Motors Supplier Quality Requirements Task Force. In 2003, the company transitioned from ISO 9001:1994 with QS 9000:1998, to the ISO 9001:2000 Standard. QS 9000 certification was not pursued due to the company’s strategic shift toward non-automotive coatings.Jamestown’s ISO 9001:2008 certification was attained on November 17, 2011.
Jamestown's latest certification, ISO 9001:2015 was obtained in 2017. Development, manufacture, laboratory testing, and shipment of industrial coatings for original equipment manufacturers were all processes included in the certification.
All ISO audits have been performed by SGS, a world-recognized auditing firm.
